The Instant Pot Plan and the Curse of the Hectic Day
How to Save Your Day When Your Boss and/or Kids Are Driving You Nuts
A dear friend of ours gave us an Instant Pot two years ago for Christmas.
And from the very first time I used it, I knew it was a game-changer for making fast and convenient meals.
And I knew too I had to include recipes from this plan in my Meals-n-Minutes SuperFast Meal Mastery course.
And that’s how the Instant Pot Plan came to be.
In case you are a new subscriber, there are 3 menu plans in this course:
The Microwave Plan
The Stovetop Skillet Plan
The Instant Pot Plan
Each of these plans are fast, delivering a complete and delicious meal in one dish in about 20 minutes.
But each has its own unique advantages and flavor profiles.
The Microwave Plan is the most convenient, easiest plan of the three. With this plan you have very little food prep. This is my goto choice when I'm traveling and only have a microwave in the hotel room. It's also the best choice when you are in a time pinch, need a break, or just don't feel like cooking or cleaning up a big mess.
The Stovetop Skillet Plan delivers the most flavor due to being able to caramelize vegetables and proteins in the skillet. Top chefs always tout caramelization as a flavor builder in their recipes. But it’s still very fast and convenient.
The Instant Pot Plan also delivers huge flavor and fast cooking times. Pressure cookers are innately flavor builders and are used by top chefs in leading restaurants just for that purpose.
You can read full details on these meal plans in the article below:

Now, don't get me wrong.
Pressure cookers were not a new thing to me. I had extensive experience with them and had owned a manual pressure cooker for years.
What sold me on the Instant Pot were all the preset features and functions. It's as easy to use as a microwave, but gives you 10 times the depth of flavor.
I have to admit, I was completely blown away how easy it was to use
Most Instant Pot dishes are delicious and easy to make.
And it's fast.
From start to finish it usually only takes 25 minutes until you are digging in. And that includes the prep time.
It's perfect for hectic days.
Let's take a look further, shall we?
The Curse of the Hectic Day
Yes, the curse of "the hectic day" is real.
And it sucks, because STARTING is difficult enough without all the stress of actually, you know, finishing.
And while I can't pretend to help you get through a grueling day of long hours with a boss breathing down your neck or misbehaving little ones, I can certainly help with "the other stuff".
In particular, helping your day finish on a high note once you get back home.
Because that’s where the real struggle kicks in, like hitting mile 20 of a marathon with no water in sight.
When you’ve just slogged through a challenging day of any kind, it’s hard to find the energy to wrap things up neatly at day’s end.
It can be a complete pain.
The chaos of life can make it easy to leave things undone—dinner unmade, your spouse and children unfed, and you settling for something less than delicious.
Thankfully, after suffering through many years of this myself, I decided to come up with a plan that would solve this problem once and for all.
Imagine coing home knowing you already have a proven plan in place, your fridge and pantry stocked with the most convenient items, your fast delicious recipes come together in minutes and save the day.
You won’t have to scramble when energy is running on empty.
Imagine coming home from work and your dinner for you and your entire family cooks while you’re in the shower.
That’s right, you read that correctly. You are relaxing in the shower while your dinner is making itself.
Too good to be true?
That’s what is possible with the Instant Pot Plant.
Let’s take a look at it, shall we?
The Instant Pot Plan
The Instant Pot Plan is very simple and straightforward.
All ingredients come together in one easy step and finish usually in about 20 to 25 minutes for most of my recipes.
You dump all the ingredients into the Instant Pot, put on the lid and press the start button. No defrosting necessary.
Basically, you set it and forget it.
And that’s how the Instant Pot is better than your plain, old-fashioned pressure cooker. The old-fashioned pressure cooker needs a bit of baby sitting to get everything cooked right. You have to watch the clock and keep time, and then you have to manually let out the pressure. There's a lot of things you have to know how to do correctly. You certainly can't just walk away.
But the Instant Pot is different. All these features are built in and automatic. You just push a button, walk away and relax.
The Instant Pot does all the work for you.
No baby sitting required.
If you think about it, the Instant Pot Plan is the easiest and most convenient of all.
I’ve got myriads of recipes that are perfect for this plan, and I know you’re going to love them.
Simple Guide for Using the Instant Pot
The Instant Pot is a game-changer for quick and easy cooking.
I am not going to go into any elaborate explanation here, because it isn’t needed.
All I want to do is just get you familiar with the simple function buttons. We will go more into detail in future lessons and as recipes come up.
Here’s a simple guide to the buttons and automatic features and what they do:
