But how did I start out down this road on a rescue mission?

I stumbled upon this concept of the Super-Fast Microwave Menu purely by accident when I was in a supermarket in Orlando, Florida not long ago.
I travel a lot, like I mentioned in my last post. And of course, when I travel, like anyone else, I don't usually pack away dishes or pots and pans. So, it's either eat out all the time, or utilize the microwave the best way I can in my hotel room.
I don't know about you, but eating out every day is not in my budget, especially with restaurant prices the way they are these days. So, when I’m on the road, it’s just me and the trusty microwave. Can you relate?
On this particular and fateful day that we are talking about here, I was in a this huge and very beautiful supermarket in Orlando, Florida, not too far from Seaworld. I was exploring around, trying to find something that was different to eat that day, something that would really pop, that would be different.
I had already looked at all the regular stuff you think about microwaving when you're traveling and staying in a hotel. You know the routine, canned soups, frozen pizza, frozen pot pies.......blah.... blah...blah, ugh. Double ugh.
I didn't see anything that caught my attention. So, I turned to walk out of the place, when I realized I didn't know where I was in the store, because it was so big, and I was lost. It was area I didn't know, and I got disoriented. I turned up an unexplored aisle by complete accident and to my surprise found marvelous things.
It was an entire area devoted to gourmet pre-cooked and pre-packaged pastas, sauces, and meats. Wow! Wow! Wow! I couldn't believe what I was seeing. I didn't even know half of these things were even available.
This accidental blunder down the wrong aisle, chance encounter in a crazy supermarket in Orlando changed my whole day, and maybe my whole life and yours too.
My mind started working that day, and honestly, hasn't stopped. From that moment onward, my mind was ablaze with ideas, burning in every waking moment, and sometimes, even in my dreams.
I wanted to experiment with all of it. I gathered up a bunch of different products in all different categories. I got pastas, rice combinations, meats and sauces. I got some frozen vegetables, as well.
I was on a mission from God (No wait, that's the Blues Brothers I'm thinking about. I'm getting that part mixed up with that movie starring Dan Aykroyd and John Belushi. Excuse me. But I was, and still am, that excited about all of this).
Keep in mind that all of these things I picked out that fateful day were pre-cooked items and pre-packaged (The vegetables were flash-frozen and were the only items that were not pre-cooked). BAM! BAM! BAM! The ultimate in taste, speed, and convenience.
That afternoon I went back to my room and was able to put together a delicious meal that included a meat, a pasta, incredible sauce and two steamed vegetables in less than five minutes.
Delivered in the microwave, it was piping-hot, and as good as anything I could have made from scratch in the kitchen. Yes, it was that good. But more importantly, it was that FAST and CONVENIENT. I felt like I had just discovered the wheel.

For the next few months, I was like a mad scientist experimenting with everything I had found in the supermarket that day. I researched the companies that made these kinds of products.
I researched the retailers who carried them. I researched all about microwave pots and plates, which ones were the best, which ones did I really need in the kitchen to do this the right way.
All of this research and experimentation has been distilled into what I call my Super-Fast Microwave Menu.
Super-Fast Microwave Menu Vs. Conventional Microwave Menu
Now, I know what you might be thinking, "Gary, what's the difference? Isn't microwave cooking just microwave cooking no matter how you slice and dice it? Isn't it all the same?"
The answers to those questions is a resounding NO. Let me make it all very clear.
It is vitally important that you understand the difference between the Super-Fast and Conventional Microwave menus. They are NOT the same. My new approach is ultimately superior.
The Conventional Microwave Menus are like the ones you will find in regular cookbooks on Amazon or in bookstores, or in Google searches. I will, of course, be giving you many of these types of recipes as we move ahead in the newsletter.
These types of recipes are still fast but require some knowledge of cooking and getting things right. And all of that extra baggage adds extra time, and knowledge and expertise required.
My Super-Fast Microwave Menu approach is much different and faster than the Conventional Approach and requires little or no cooking experience or knowledge.
