The Collapse They Said Would Never Happen: How 60 Minutes' Fall Exposes the Media's Dirty Secrets
From Media Empire to Embarrassment: What Bill Owens' Resignation Really Tells Us About the Great Awakening
I grew up with "The most TRUSTED man" Walter Cronkite.
And I remember watching 60 Minutes with my dad when I was a kid. I remember sitting on the floor at his feet and the “tick, tick, tick,” of the clock from the show’s introduction.
We only had ABC, NBC and CBS back then. Only three stations on a black and white console TV that was nearly as big as our washing machine.
That TV didn't even have a remote. You had to get up out of your chair, walk over and change the station with the big, clunky knob. No channel surfing back then, I tell you.
And the news services were UPU and AP, though I didn't really know about that kind of stuff at the time.
Just how much we saw on that TV was truth and how much fiction?
Was it unbiased then?
Was it what "THEY" wanted you to know?
Was there ever any truth?
Hmmm.
These questions haunt me.
