How Our Leaders Fail to Stand with Israel

The death of Yahya Sinwar, a senior Hamas leader and one of the masterminds behind October 7 and countless attacks on Israel should have been a moment of decisive action for Israel to safeguard its borders. However, instead of unwavering support from the U.S., Vice President Kamala Harris urged restraint.

Harris, in a shocking statement, opposed Israel’s plans to enter Raffa, the Hamas stronghold, claiming, "I’ve seen the maps. Going into Raffa will only escalate the situation."

Her remarks bring up many questions concerning her intent and possible deception: What did she know about the location of the Hamas stronghold? Why would she deliberately try to thwart a successful military operation? What side is she on, after all?

Such questions come more into focus after years of the Biden/Harris administration funneling billions of dollars into Iran.

Her comment has left many outraged, as it reveals her lack of trust in Israel’s ability to defend itself and the prioritization of political optics over security.

It is not just about maps—it’s about a country fighting for its survival.

Kamala's decision to publicly oppose Israel’s military actions in Raffa is not only a signal of weakness but a betrayal of one of America's most important allies.

Instead of standing shoulder to shoulder with Israel, Harris and other administration officials have effectively tied the hands of the Israeli Defense Forces at a critical juncture. By discouraging Israel’s right to pursue justice after the death of Sinwar, Kamala Harris has shown where her true allegiance lies, and it’s not with Israel.

Her betrayal is even more evident when you consider her previous statements. Harris has frequently spoken about the need for a two-state solution but seems to sidestep the reality of Israel's security concerns. "We are committed to a two-state solution," she reiterated, "but we cannot condone some of the measures taken by the Israeli government under Prime Minister Netanyahu."

Harris’s rhetoric, focused on appeasement and caution, raises questions about whether she truly understands the gravity of Israel's ongoing struggle against terrorism.

President Biden’s tepid support only fuels this outrage. His administration’s stance has been marked by ambiguity.

Biden said, “I’ve made it clear that while we support Israel’s right to defend itself, actions that further entrench the occupation are unacceptable.” This noncommittal language sidesteps the reality that Israel’s fight against Hamas is not about occupation—it’s about survival.

By distancing himself from Netanyahu’s government, Biden, too, seems more concerned with appearances than with fortifying a crucial ally in a volatile region.

The media’s portrayal of Netanyahu hasn’t helped either. The New York Times, in an article last month, criticized the prime minister, claiming, “Netanyahu's hardline approach is eroding democracy in Israel.”

This type of narrative suggests that Israel’s security measures, rather than Hamas’s violence, are the primary issue. Such biased reporting, embraced by progressives, feeds into the dangerous notion that Netanyahu is more of a problem than Hamas itself.

The growing criticism of Israel’s leadership is deeply troubling. Prime Minister Netanyahu has long been a staunch defender of his nation, navigating an incredibly dangerous region.

Yet, instead of receiving unequivocal support, Israel faces resistance from the U.S. administration, spearheaded by Harris. This is not just political maneuvering—it’s a betrayal.

America’s duty to stand with Israel has never been more critical. As the unrest in the Middle East continues to grow, it’s essential to call out the reckless decision to stonewall Netanyahu and limit Israel’s military actions.

Kamala’s Raffa reckoning shows a dangerous shift in policy, and Americans should be outraged. We must demand stronger, unwavering support for Israel and its leadership, ensuring that this vital relationship remains intact for the safety of both nations.
